Lucky Paperclip with Shamrock Pattern

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I crocheted this cute little 4-leaf-clover today and decided to place it on a paperclip. If you are interested in my pattern, please read below and use your lucky shamrock to embellish just about anything!

The shamrock is approximately 1.25” wide by 1.75” long.

– Worsted weight yarn in green (I used

– 3.25mm (D) hook

– Tapestry needle

– Scissors

– ch = chain

– sc = single crochet

– dc = double crochet

– tc = triple crochet

– sl st = slip stitch

Rnd 1: Magic circle, 5 sc in magic circle, join to first sc with sl st. (5 sc)

Rnd 2: *Ch 2, [in same st as ch 2: dc, tc, dc, sc], sl st in next st (you have completed one leaf) and repeat from * three more times to form the next three leaves. After your last st in the final st from the first round, ch 7, sl st into 2nd ch from hook and across the ch, then sl st into the same st from the first round, fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing (if needed).

You can either tie, glue, or use your tapestry needle to sew your shamrock to the top of a paperclip. That’s it! Of course, you can always use your shamrock for something other than a paperclip as well. I would love to hear how you used yours!
