I am frantically working on finishing a project before the Fourth of July and decided a cute little star would be the perfect embellishment for the project. I whipped this one up in no time flat. If you want to crochet something related to the upcoming holiday but just don’t have the time for a big project, make one (or several) of these little guys! Each one can be made in under 5 minutes. They are also a great way to use up your scrap yarn. Make them in any color you wish and use them however you like!
This star is a fun little project and takes less than 5 minutes to make. Use it as an embellishment for a larger project or make several stars as a fun way to use up your scrap yarn.
The star is about 2 inches tall and 2 inches wide.
– Size H/8/5.00mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
– Worsted weight (4) yarn in your choice of color (I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Cherry Red, Royal, White for the stars in the main picture.)
– Tapestry needle
– ch = chain
– chs = chains
– dc = double crochet
– sc = single crochet
– slst = slip stitch
– st = stitch
Round 1: Make a magic ring, ch 1, work 5 sc in magic ring, join to first st with a slst, pull ring closed.
(Using your tapestry needle, weave in the end to close the magic circle)
Round 2: *Ch 4, slst in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, dc in last ch, slst to next st from Round 1 (one point of star is made). Repeat from * four more times around; after your final slst to the first st from Round 1, fasten off and weave in loose ends.
