Happy New Year, everyone!!! If you are looking for a cute gift idea for a New Year’s party host/hostess, try a bottle of their favorite beverage served/presented with my New Year’s Eve Bottle Topper. You can add the year to make it extra commemorative, or you might choose not to so that it can be used year after year at New Year’s parties. It looks super cute either way!

Cut 3-5 strands (about 3 inches long each) of silver sparkle yarn. Knot them at the bottom (the knot is to keep the strands from slipping out of the top of the hat) and use a tapestry needle to pull the top ends through the center of the top of the hat.
Optional Year Appliqué/Embroidery
Use a tapestry needle and silver sparkle yarn to create a series of back-stitches in the shape of the numbers needed for the year.
***Another easier method would be to cut a strand of silver sparkle yarn for each number in the year and position it on the hat in the shape of the number. You can then hot glue or sew them on using a needle and thread.
